Many people have asked us about East London Big Flame and our political activism in the early 1970s. This site gives a summary of what we did and why, and it contains links to pdfs of many of our original documents, leaflets, pamphlets etc.
We hope that the activists of today – who share many of our concerns and ideas – will find it interesting and useful.
Some of the documents we made, some we helped make, some were part of the activism around us and a record of that time. Tatty layouts (pre-computer), different times, different issues, an optimism that can look crazy in retrospect. We hope you enjoy it all.
